Black and White
2024—2025 · 20 works
Black and white runs through the artist's travels. Here are Socotra's dragon's blood trees seen from below, salt pans and their channels, stone terraces, a cobogó wall taken over by roots, sand in small mounds and, above all, the Lençóis Maranhenses seen from above, where dark lagoons and pale dunes turn into patches of ink.
Without colour, landscape loses its address and gains drawing. It is the movement of Des Cobertas taken to its limit: place stops being recognisable and becomes only form, light and texture.
