Humans
2019 · 3 works
Only three images, and the only series where transformation has a face. Anauê and Pajé were made in the Amazon in 2019, in a vertical format of 89 × 60 cm — frontal, sustained portraits, without the picturesque that usually accompanies such encounters.
Keeping the series short is significant. Against the impulse to accumulate, the artist preserves only what survived — and places beside the two portraits a spider's web on stone. The juxtaposition is deliberate: there too is someone who builds, and the structure only becomes visible when light strikes from the side.
