Sky and Water

The series works on photography's most worn-out motif — the sunset — and rescues it through insistence. Epílogo, in three parts, and Nascer and Raios de Sol are not after spectacle: they are after the line where sky and water cease to be distinguishable.

Espelhar is the key to the group: a river dwelling and its reflection, composed so that one cannot tell which half is upright. That is the proposition of the whole series — when the water's surface goes still, the world comes to have two equally true versions.
