About

Discovering myself comes from looking at what bleeds, what tears itself open to be seen and places itself in my path. The destination is the world, and as the artist said: “the museum is the world.” I see art in nature, in the angles caught of elements in transformation: transformed, or transforming.

Marcela Neves lives and works in the interior of São Paulo, Brazil. She trained in photography at Escola Panamericana and studied Art History at MAM — the Museum of Modern Art of São Paulo. She studied painting at The Art Institute League in New York and completed the Das Artes contemporary art immersion.

She works under the mentorship of curator Eder Chiodetto. Her work is printed with mineral pigment on cotton fine art canvas and on Hahnemühle Photo Rag paper, in numbered editions.

She has held solo exhibitions at the IEA-USP Cultural Space and at Centro Cultural Palace, in Ribeirão Preto, and took part in the 4th Contemporary Art Exhibition at Casa da Memória Italiana with an installation.
