Water

Water is the largest group in the recent portfolios and the one that pushes furthest an old idea of the artist's: the surface as the place where the world rearranges itself. Nothing here is photographed directly. Trees, clouds, palms and trunks appear only as reflection — folded, stretched into bands, broken into patches of light.
The series swings between two modes. In one, water is almost painting: deep blue with a floating leaf, a fishing line entering the frame, a black mirror torn by clouds. In the other, it is pure light: sun bursting into stars over wet sand, a dark wave rising like a mountain. The green triptych, made right at the waterline, sums up both — a horizon that is no horizon, only the skin of the water seen from inside.
